Creating a New Report Schedule

When creating a new report schedule, you can set a schedule for a report of the following types:

With a specific date and time schedule, the report will run once on the date and time specified. After the report has been generated, the schedule will not create another report.

With the regularly scheduled option, you can schedule a report to be generated on a regular basis. Click below for information for scheduling a report to run on:

Specific Date and Time

To schedule a report to run at a specific date and time, perform the following:

Note: You can choose the GMT offset for the time the report should be based upon.

  1. At the Schedule screen, click the Specific Date and Time option button.

  2. From the Computer to Run Report list box, Select the computer that will run the report.

  3. To have the report generate automatically, be sure the Active? check box is selected.

  4. In the Run this Report on text box, you can either enter the date, or use the interactive calendar.

  5. In the adjacent text box, enter the time you want the report to be generated. You may type a time in the text box, use the up and down arrows, or click the interactive clock.

  6. Note: Current date and time are the defaults settings.

    Note: You can choose the Country, and the GMT offset for the time the report should be based upon.

    Note: The drop list is filled with all time zones but defaults to the browser time zone and whether or not DST is used.

  7. To save this schedule click the OK button, and you will return to the Schedule tab. There, you will see the new schedule listed.

    Regularly Scheduled

    Scheduling by Month

    Selecting this scheduling option will generate a report on a specified day of the month. To schedule this type of report, perform the following:

    1. At the Schedule screen, click the Regularly Scheduled option button.

    2. From the Computer to Run Report list box, select the computer that will run the report.

    1. To have the report generate automatically, be sure the Active? check box is selected.

    2. Click the Regularly Scheduled option button.

    3. Click the Monthly option button.

    4. To have the report generate on a specific date of the month, perform the following:

      • Click the Date option button

      • In the Date text box, enter the day of the month you want the report to be generated

      Note: You can choose the Country, and the GMT offset for the time the report should be based upon.

      Note: The drop list is filled with all time zones but defaults to the browser time zone and whether or not DST is used.

      For example:

    1. To have the report generate on a first, second, third, or fourth day of the week each month, perform the following:

      • Click the Of The Month option button

      • From the Week of the Month list box, select which week of the month you want the report to generate

      • From the Day of the Month list box, select the day of the week  you want the report to generate

    1. When defining a regularly scheduled report, you must specify a Start Report date and time:

      • In the Start Report At Date text box, enter the date you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a date in the text box or use the interactive calendar.

      • In the Start Report At Time text box, enter the time you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a time in the text box, use the up and down arrows, or click the interactive clock.

    Scheduling by Week

    Selecting this scheduling option will generate a report on a specified day of the week. To schedule this type of report, perform the following:

    1. At the Schedule screen, click the Regularly Scheduled option button.

    2. From the Computer to Run Report list box, select the computer that will run the report.

    3. Click the Weekly option button.

    4. From the Select Weekday list box, select the day of the week you want the report generated.

    1. When defining a regularly scheduled report, you must specify a Start Report date and time:

      • In the Start Report At Date text box, enter the date you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a date in the text box or use the interactive calendar.

      • In the Start Report At Time text box, enter the time you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a time in the text box, use the up and down arrows, or click the interactive clock.

    Scheduling by Day

    Selecting this scheduling option will generate a report on a specified day or days of the week.

    To schedule this type of report, perform the following:

    1. At the Schedule screen, click the Regularly Scheduled option button.

    2. From the Computer to Run Report list box, select the computer that will run the report.

    1. To have the report generate automatically, be sure the Active? check box is selected.

    2. Click the Regularly Scheduled option button.

    3. Click the Daily option button.

    4. Click the day or days of the week you want the report generated. By default, all of the weekdays are selected.

    1. When defining a regularly scheduled report, you must specify a Start Report date and time:

      • In the Start Report At Date text box, enter the date you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a date in the text box or use the interactive calendar.

      • In the Start Report At Time text box, enter the time you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a time in the text box, use the up and down arrows, or click the interactive clock.

    Scheduling by Hours

    Selecting this scheduling option will have a report run automatically every number of specified hours.

    To schedule this type of report, perform the following:

    1. At the Schedule screen, click the Regularly Scheduled option button.

    2. From the Computer to Run Report list box, select the computer that will run the report.

    1. To have the report generate automatically, be sure the Active? check box is selected.

    2. Click the Regularly Scheduled option button.

    3. Click the Hourly option button.

    4. In the Every Hours text box, enter the number of hours to wait before a new report is generated. The number entered must be a whole number (no decimals), and must be between 1 and 24.

    1. When defining a regularly scheduled report, you must specify a Start Report date and time:

      • In the Start Report At Date text box, enter the date you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a date in the text box or use the interactive calendar.

      • In the Start Report At Time text box, enter the time you want the schedule to begin running. You may type a time in the text box, use the up and down arrows, or click the interactive clock.
