Usage Exception Report: Overview

The Usage Exception report helps managers get a quick overview of people who fail to meet or exceed specific  thresholds. There are two types of Usage Exception reports:

In a Directory-based Usage Exception report, the thresholds for a person or an organizational level are set in the Directory database. In a Ad Hoc Report-based Usage Exception report, the thresholds are set using the constraints located at the Additional Constraints tab and you are able to set summarization levels at the Layout tab.

Note: You can only set summarization levels in a Report-based Usage Exception report.

Regardless of the method used for setting the thresholds, the report generated from each type of Usage Exception report will appear identical.
